Your health and safety is our top priority, and we have put special measures in place to keep all guests safe during our tours:

Ways To Nature staff have ‘Up-To-Date’ status for COVID-19 vaccination, as described by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) and the Federal Government.

Only customers participating in the Len Howard Conservation Park tour must have an Up-To-Date Vaccination status to comply with WA State Government vaccination mandates pertaining to tourism transportation (shuttle bus transfer component of the tour).

Ways To Nature has completed the mandatory AHA (Australian Hotels Association) Hospitality and Tourism COVID-19 Hygiene Course.

We supply a manual COVID-19 registration sheet due to multiple departure locations. As per State Government requirements, our COVID_19 sign in register is kept for 14 days in case contact tracing is required

Group numbers are kept small (max 10 people) to enable us to maintain current physical distance restrictions during all tours.

All equipment (e.g. binoculars) are sanitised after every tour or between shared usage (e.g. spotting scopes). Hand sanitiser will be available for use at all times.

We will ensure that your tour guide and all guests (unless exempt) wear the necessary PPE (e.g. facemasks) if required by future directives from the Department of Health.

Your tour guide will ensure they are healthy and symptom-free before each tour. If you or anyone in your group is unwell or experiencing symptoms, we will work directly with you to cancel or reschedule your tour.

All tours require prior booking through our secure booking page on our website at least 24 hours before the start of the tour. For same day enquiries, please call 0439 264 942 and I will endeavour to accommodate your request. Unfortunately, Ways To Nature is unable to process cash or credit card payments at the trail head at the commencement of a tour.

Enclosed, comfortable footwear is recommended, as is a hat in the warmer months.  Consider long sleeves and pants to protect against the sun and mosquitoes during summer. A rain jacket and beanie will help keep you toasty in winter, especially on the Night Rambles.

Apart from your sense of adventure? Depending on the weather: sunscreen, sunglasses and a water bottle. Unfortunately I am  unable to supply shared equipment such as binoculars and spotting scopes at at this time, so please  bring your own if you have them. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

There is a great quote by Sir Rannulph Fiennes (British Antarctic explorer and general adventurer) that I love:

“There is no such thing as bad weather – only inappropriate clothing.”

Walks will go ahead rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. Tours may be cancelled because of extreme weather risks, to the discretion of Ways To Nature (e.g. Bureau of Meteorology warnings or extreme fire danger). Ways To Nature will provide a full refund or opportunity to reschedule. Please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

Yes, there could be. We will be walking through habitat that is home to many species of fauna – snakes included. That is why we keep to the trails and recommend enclosed footwear and consider wearing long pants. Snakes are more active in the warmer months, which in WA can be anywhere between September and April. Snakes prefer to retreat from disturbances and are not dangerous unless threatened or provoked. Risk of interaction can be reduced by observing from a distance and allowing the snake time and space to move away. As your guide, I am trained in First Aid and carry a first aid kit containing compression bandages.

Your safety is of prime importance.I am First Aid and CPR qualified and carry a first aid kit, a mobile phone loaded with the St John Ambulance First Responder App (which supplies a GPS location with all 000 emergency calls) as well as a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) registered with AMSA (Australian Maritime and Safety Authority).

Ways To Nature operate tours for groups between 2 and 10 people. We prefer smaller groups to deliver a more personal interpretation experience and to optimise wildlife observations. However, if you would like to organise a private tour for your community or school group, please contact me.

Wheelchair accessibility is listed in the details for each walk on our Walking Ways page. The majority of the trails are on uneven natural surfaces with some sandy or rocky sections. Ways To Nature can customise tours for people with limited mobility or for those dependent on wheelchairs. Whatever your abilities, I would love to create a memorable nature experience for you, so please contact me if you would like more information.

Yes! The trails are Graded 1 and 2 and are suitable for most children. Children under the age of 8 may tire along the longer 2 hour tours, although I believe you are the best to decide what your child can handle. The information I share along the walk is pitched to a general audience and best suited to children aged 8+. However, I do run children’s walks during the school holidays where the  interpretation is tailored specifically for children. Trail grade (difficulty), length and duration are listed for each walk on our Walking Ways page.  Some walks are also suitable for strollers, just check the accessibility notes listed for each walk.

No, a digital copy of your confirmation email on your phone is fine.

Each Ways To Nature tour has a designated start location at the public car park at whichever National Park or reserve the tour occurs in.  I will be wearing branded clothing and watchfully waiting for you in this location. Detailed instructions and a map will be supplied with your booking confirmation email.

No, unfortunately Ways To Nature is not equipped to provide transport for our customers at the moment. The Transperth Mandurah line provides an excellent service from Perth to Mandurah (~52minutes), as well as local Mandurah bus routes with stops within walking distance to the tour trail heads. Mandurah is serviced by both private taxi and rideshare companies as well as several car hire companies. Please refer to the following website if you require more information: Transperth Journey Planner.

Free public car parking bays are available at each of the tour trail heads. Google map locations will be provided with your booking confirmation email.

All our tours are conducted in English. However, if you or members of your group do not speak English as a first language, we can potentially provide an interpreter for an additional cost. Please contact me
